North Canton Middle Schoolers Bring Mental Health Resource to the Community

Ten middle schoolers from North Canton Middle School took their What If 101 experience to the next level at Camp What If You Could!

Over two jam-packed days, they formed committees, brainstormed strategies, and launched a jewelry fundraiser called Messy Minds—all in support of mental health.

“What if we could be start a creative business that raises money for mental health?”

Thank you to Walsh University for hosting our group, and Nick Morris for leading a strategy session with these middle schoolers!

Community Collaboration

They tackled everything from budgeting and marketing to partnerships and prototypes—with a bonus strategy session from Nick Morris of Walsh University!

They decided to sell their wares (named Messy Minds Jewelry) at the Kids’ Art Mart presented by ArtsinStark and Enrichment of Stark County in Summer 2025, raising money to support Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health.

Named Messy Minds, this collection is more than just beautiful. It’s meaningful. These young makers raised $350 for Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health and sparked conversations around mental health, one handmade piece at a time.
