Volunteering as a Community Guest
Carla Herstine has been working as an Adventure Curator at TomTod Ideas since 2025. As an Adventure Curator, Carla works directly with middle schoolers through our programming in classes, clubs, and camps. Her passion for empowering youth and creating safe spaces for self-expression has been the guiding force of her career.
Carla graduated from the University of Mount Union with a BA in History and Secondary Education in 2021, followed by an MBA in 2025. Before joining TomTod, she served as the Regional Teen and Family Program Director at the Eric Snow YMCA, where she built lasting connections within the Canton community.
Originally drawn to TomTod through her work at the YMCA, Carla quickly found herself inspired by the organization’s mission and the creativity of the students she met. She now calls Canton home, living right in the heart of the city with her husband and their two dogs. When she’s not curating adventures, Carla enjoys reading on her Kindle, crocheting cozy creations, and unwinding with Disney Dreamlight Valley on the Nintendo Switch.
